Kanha tiger reserve became first in India get official mascot

Kanha in Madhya Pradesh became first tiger reserve in India to officially introduce a mascot named Bhoorsingh the Barasingha, to create a better connect with its visitors, especially the younger generation.

The mascot Bhoorsingh will soon feature in more artwork, posters and merchandise for the park management at Kanha.

The Facts

The mascot aims to present the hard ground swamp deer (Barasingha) as the spirit of the reserve and spread awareness to save it from possible extinction.It will also create a unique identity for Kanha, and also spread awareness and allow the younger generation to connect with all wildlife.The mascot has been designed by cartoonist Rohan Chakravarty, who runs a popular website com which showcases over 350 cartoons, comics and illustrations on wildlife and nature conservation, environment, sustainability etc.

Roger Federer beats Rafael Nadal to win Miami Open

Roger Federer picked up his third title of 2017 on 2nd April 2017.

He was beating Rafael Nadal in straight sets to claim the Miami open and continue his sensational resurgence. The Swiss great beat his Spanish rival for a third time this season and fourth in succession.

He had taken 94 minutes to claim his 91st career title and with it. Federer defeated Nadl with straight sets 6-3, 6-4 victory in Florida

Lionel Messi suspended for four matches by FIFA

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee suspended Argentina football player Lionel Messi for four matches on 28TH March 2017 for the fault in relation to an incident during the match between Argentina and Chile on 23rd March 2017. In the qualifying competition for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, Lionel Messi used insulting words to an assistant referee. This incident led to the suspension of for four official matches and sanctioned with a fine of CHF 10,000.
